The Phoenix Police Department used a wireless video surveillance system from Firetide during Super Bowl XLII. Nearly 40 video surveillance cameras in and around downtown Phoenix were installed in addition to 40 of the company’s HotPort 6000 mesh nodes that wirelessly connected the cameras to public safety operations. According to the company, the system transported evidence-grade video from cameras in alleys, the middle of the street and other hard-to-reach places to two public-safety operation centers.
