Spectrum Signal Processing announced that the European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC) will use its flexComm Waveform Design Studio for the research and development of software-defined radio capabilities. The JRC will be using the software communications architecture (SCA)-based platform to support the European Union’s wireless communications interoperability strategy for first responders and to better understand emerging technologies—such as mesh networks and wideband communications—and will assess future threats to critical network infrastructures, the company said.
