CalAmp Corp.’s Public Safety Mobile Group installed a public-safety mobile data network for the city and county of Denver, Colo., to support security needs at this week’s Democratic National Convention. The network consists of an open-architecture, IP-based network infrastructure, IP-based Paragon3 full-duplex base stations, and IP-based G3 Agile Dual-Band (G3 ADB) 800 and 700 MHz mobile modem platforms with integrated GPS tracking. The system operates at 64 Kb/s. Public-safety management and field personnel use the system to access information from federal, state and local remote databases autonomously, according to the company.
