EF Johnson Technologies announces contracts
EF Johnson Technologies has received a contract for $1 million in support of the Federal Communications Commission’s 800 MHz reconfiguration program. Under this contract, the company will be providing its multimode ES Series of Project 25–compliant radios and accessories for first responders. It also received a contract for $3.2 million in its state and local market for the P25 two-way radios and accessories. Finally, it received a funding increment of $0.9 million from the U.S. Navy to extend its virtual perimeter monitoring system.
Consortium announces certified service centers
The
Consortium for Certified Service Centers announced more than 200 approved certified service centers, bringing a total to more than 300 service locations in the United States that have met set standards for excellence in customer service and technical expertise in technology industries. The CSC has named more than 165 companies in the wireless industry as certified service centers over the past two years. The program was launched in 2001 as a program designed to recognize electronics and appliance service companies that met or exceeded a set of specific requirements geared to measure technical competence, sound business practices, presence of proper test equipment, appropriate physical plant and a documented approach to improving and maintaining customer service standards, according to the consortium.
Intergraph system used during G8 Summit
Intergraph, as part of a team led by
SELEX Sistemi Integrati, the systems integrator for the Finmeccanica Group, played a role in safety and security of world leaders, guests and infrastructure at the G8 Summit, held in L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy, July 8–10. Intergraph’s integrated security solutions provided a common operating picture that aided Civil Protection Department personnel in their efforts to secure vulnerable areas, detect and assess threats and quickly respond to incidents, according to Intergraph. The integrated security system also enabled the exchange of intelligence between the Central Management Station and several remote command-and-control centers.
Arizona agencies share Spillman software
Three agencies in Arizona’s Cochise County are adopting software from
Spillman Technologies. The Sierra Vista Police Department, Sierra Vista Fire Department and Fry Fire District will use a shared Spillman system to store data on a common server, located at the police department. Data can be accessed by all three agencies, giving each access to a wide range of information and allowing personnel to identify regional crime trends.
PlantCML releases MIS solution
PlantCML released the management information system (MIS) solution dubbed Aurora, to work in tandem with the VESTA call-processing solution. The Aurora MIS includes a near-real-time desktop, providing supervisors and managers an effective tool for overseeing call-handling activities. It includes a reporting engine with a number of pre-defined templates that are expandable to thousands of reports. An ad-hoc reporting engine allows for custom report creation to supplement the advanced predefined templates.
