MED3000 partners with Emergency Reporting for billing system
Washington-based Emergency Reporting and MED3000, an EMS billing company, are partnering to provide a records-management system interfaced with EMS billing and recovery services. As a result, Emergency Reporting datasets and other incident-reporting tools now will be included free of charge as part of MED3000’s overall billing solution.
“We’ve reached an agreement that Emergency Reporting services will be given at no cost to any agency that elects to use MED3000 for billing services,” said Dave Adams, president of Emergency Reporting.
Emergency Reporting is an approved GSA Schedule vendor that offers government clients centralized, Web-based National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) and National Emergency Medical Services Information System (NEMSIS) datasets. The integration of the national dataset standards is critical because an average 70% of fire department incidents are EMS-related, Adams said.
Currently, Emergency Reporting’s solution supports fire rescue, EMS agencies, military, nuclear-power facilities, airports, ambulance services, hospitals, oil refineries and multiagency districts. Adams said it helps an agency collect day-to-day statistical data and, because it is Web-based, data are accessible by an unlimited number of authorized users who have access to the Internet 24/7.
“The heart of the system is incident data, so anytime a fire or EMS agency goes out on a call for a medical or structure fire, they complete all NFIRS requirements online,” Adams said. “Then, it is submitted on their behalf to the state or FEMA. Users also can store training and personnel data as well as videos on our system.”
The two systems have been fully integrated and are available now to MED3000 clients, Adams added.
