ON24 unveils new webcasting platform
ON24 this week announced the availability of its Webcasting Platform 10, the latest version of the company’s virtual-event solution designed for enterprise communications that includes features for greater personalization and an open environment for widget development.
“ON24 Webcasting Platform 10 is the culmination of a lot of work we’ve been doing to redefine webcasting to make it more personal for the user by giving them more customization options on their end,” said Mark Szelenyi, ON24’s senior director of webcasting, during an interview with Urgent Communications. “We’ve also opened the platform, so we now allow third-party-developed widgets that add functionality to webcast events.”
Other features of the new webcasting platform include application bundles, support for multi-presenter webcam video, mobile delivery to devices such as smart phones and tablet computers, and multiple-language support, according to ON24.
“I think a lot of what you’re seeing here are industry firsts,” Szelenyi said.
Having myriad options is important to enterprises conducting webinars, said Tim Stark, director of online events for Penton Media, which publishes Urgent Communications.
“As a producer of hundreds of webcasts annually that serve up content in multiple markets, the ability of a software provider to allow the flexibility to customize an event — not only for a specific market, but, more importantly, for a specific client — is vital,” Stark said in a statement. “The ability to produce a webcast with an interface that is not a ‘cookie-cutter’ application is what makes our events stand out. ON24’s platform will allow extensive visual customizations to our events and provide flexible functionality, all within a single technology.”
