Cisco routers drive M2M, tactical mobility conversations
From CRN: Cisco recently launched routers intended for markets requiring machine-to-machine (M2M) communications.
The 819 Integrated Services Router (ISR) Machine-to-Machine Gateway is designed to extend 3G/4G wireless WAN services to small devices in the field. The small-form-factor unit weighs 2.3 pounds and includes 3G and GPS antenna for location-based services. A ruggedized version can withstand temperatures as low as – 13°F and as high as 140°F.
The ISR supports a range of security features and can be managed remotely via Cisco Prime network-management platform.
