Thales issues suppliers declaration of compliance for Liberty radio
Thales Communications has issued a Suppliers Declaration of Compliance (SDOC) demonstrating that its Liberty multiband land-mobile radio (LMR) has successfully completed Project 25 Compliance Assessment Program (P25 CAP) testing for both trunking interoperability and performance.
Trunked interoperability testing was performed at various third-party test laboratories on Motorola Solutions, Harris, Tait/EADS, and Raytheon infrastructure. The third-party test lab, TIMCO, conducted the performance testing. All testing facilities meet standards established by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Thales’s Liberty LMR enables multi-agency communications in all of the public safety frequency bands (136-174 MHz, 380-520 MHz, 700 MHz, and 800 MHz) in a single portable radio. It operates in P25 conventional, P25 trunked, and legacy analog modes with Output Feedback Data Encryption Standard (OFB DES), Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), and Over-the-Air-Rekey (OTAR) for secure communications. Mil Spec rugged, the radio is submersible to two meters.
Earlier this year, the Liberty LMR received Factory Mutual Intrinsic Safe certification.
