NetMotion Wireless announces Erik Prusch as CEO
Enterprise mobility-management solution provider NetMotion Wireless today announced that Erik Prusch has joined the company as its chief executive officer, fulfilling the same role he held for 4G wireless carrier Clearwire.
Tracy Crowe, NetMotion’s director of product marketing, said that Prusch began meeting with NetMotion employees last week and that company employees have “really enjoyed having him on board.”
Under Prusch, Clearwire grew its revenues and subscriber base significantly, as well as improved margins. He led the sale of Clearwire to Sprint, according to a NetMotion press release. Previously, Prusch was president and CEO for Borland Software and served in financial leadership roles for Intuit’s TurboTax division, Indentix and Gateway Computers.
“These are all incredible skills that we look forward to having on our side as we move forward with NetMotion,” Crowe said during an interview with IWCE’s Urgent Communications. “It also doesn’t hurt that understands the culture, being a local Seattle resident.
“He’s super-excited about the opportunity. It’s a great fit, both for him and for us.”
Indeed, Prusch expressed enthusiasm for his new position at NetMotion Wireless.
“The opportunity to lead NetMotion is tremendous, and I look forward to working with the talented NetMotion team and its customers as we look to set the new standard in enterprise mobility management,” Prusch said in a prepared statement. “NetMotion has attractive opportunities for expansion, and the company is well-positioned to benefit from significant market trends, including the continuing rise in the number of mobile workers, the increasing use of mission-critical applications on mobile devices, and numerous regulatory changes requiring greater data security.”
Prusch succeeds Chris Gibbons in the top position of NetMotion Wireless. Gibbons, the operating advisor for Clearlake Capital Group—the private investment firm that purchased NetMotion Wireless in 2012—had served as the interim CEO for NetMotion Wireless and will continue to serve as the chairman of the board.
“Erik brings deep expertise in navigating technology companies through rapid growth and expansion phases, and we are also pleased he is joining NetMotion as CEO at this exciting time,” Clearlake’s Behdad Eghbali and Prashant Mehrotra said in a prepared statement. “He is the right person to lead NetMotion, as we pursue opportunities for the company and capitalize on strong trends in enterprise mobility management.”
