Established in 1923, EFJohnson has a long history of providing mission critical communication solutions and is one of only three companies in the LMR industry today that has developed a full line of P25 products. Our award-winning public safety communication products including ATLAS® P25 system solutions and Viking® subscribers, demonstrate our continued focus on innovation.

EFJohnson expands the Viking radio portfolio with the new Viking VM600 Mobile. Christian Barker, Director of Product Management at EFJohnson introduces the VM600 at IWCE 2014.

Product Highlights:

EFJohnson’s Viking radios have remarkable audio performance and interoperability through multi-band and  multi-system operation.  Vikings can simultaneously operate on SMARTNET®/SmartZone®, P25 Phase I trunked/conventional, P25 Phase II systems, and FM Analog.

The new Viking Mobile VM600 is equipped with the industry’s only electroluminescent display which can be easily read with sunglasses from any angle.  The VM600 includes all of the features in the Viking portables including TDMA Phase II operation and radio authentication.

Viking portable and mobile radios are configured with Armada® fleet management software. With the powerful template paradigm of Armada, templates can now be applied to a portable or mobile radio.  Copy and paste functions allow multiple templates to be built quickly. A graphical tab that displays the entire fleet of radios grouped by function or agency allows radio administrators to easily manage and update their fleet of radios.

The release of the single-band VM600 will be followed with the release of a multi-band mobile.
