JVCKENWOOD USA Introduces DMR Mobiles and Portables

JVCKENWOOD USA Introduces DMR Mobiles and Portables

  • Written by Donny Jackson
  • 28th December 2015

(Suwanee, GA) JVCKENWOOD USA announces a full line of Kenwood DMR radios with the introduction of the TK-D240V/D340V VUH/UHF digital portable and the TK-D740HV/D840HU VHF/UHF digital mobile radios.  The new JVCKENWOOD DMR radios offer high quality audio, improved coverage, and a cost-effective solution. These radios operate in DMR Tier II, which specifies a 2-slot TDMA protocol in 12.5 kHz channels, satisfying both ETSI and TIA specifications.  With the capability to operate in both digital and FM analog modes, users can migrate to full digital on their own schedule. Because up to two simultaneous subscriber calls can be supported in a single 12.5 kHz channel, a base station or repeater is not necessary, therefore doubling channel capacity and spectrum efficiency.  Ideal for use in business, industrial and many mission critical settings, both radios meet MIL-STD C/D/E/F/G standards for durability in varied conditions and feature renowned Kenwood quality audio and AMBE+2™ vocoder technology for exceptional voice clarity.

The new TKR-D710/D810 repeater rounds out the DMR offerings, with a DMR Tier II compatible interface, 30 channel capacity, digital display and AIS IP Console interface option available with the KTI-5 Interface Box installed with the appropriate IP Network Software.

The TK-D240V/D340U portables have a durable and compact form, designed to the highest ergonometric standards for maximum usability; meet the IP 54/55 ratings for dust and water intrusion and feature extended battery life found in digital radios for either Lithium-ion or Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. The voice announcement feature, available in three languages, assures operation without having to look at the display.  The TK-D740HV/D840HU mobile features a trim design, for easy mounting in any vehicle, meets the IP54 specification for dust intrusion and the large 2-digit LED display is easy to read, even in low light conditions.  A programmable blue LED indicator can be customized and the front panel features 9 programmable function keys for easier field operations.

JVCKENWOOD USA manufactures analog and digital two-way radios, including P25 compliant and NEXEDGE® radios that use the NXDN® protocol.  Kenwood provides complete turnkey system solutions for the utility, public safety, government, education, healthcare, and business and industrial markets. For detailed information, visit us at www.kenwood.com/usa or call JVCKENWOOD USA at 1-800-950-5005.
