Chicago’s Sears Tower, the nation’s tallest building, has reached an agreement with InnerWireless to deploy a wireless system throughout the 110-story structure that is expected to improve wireless communications—making dropped calls in elevators a thing of the past—and enable Wi-Fi access in offices on all floors of the skyscraper. The InnerMobile system simultaneously supports cellular and PCS voice and data, paging, two-way radio for building operations, maintenance and security, wireless LAN for high-speed data, and first responder communications, according to InnerWireless.
