Transcrypt lands $1.4 Million contract from Iraqi army
Transcrypt International announced it has received a $1.4 million contract from the New Iraqi Army to provide encryption boards that will support two-way land mobile radio communications. Transcrypt’s distributor, St. Charles, Ill.-based Radio & Trunking Distributors International, received the order, which represents “the first portion of a significant piece of business,” said Charles DeVito, president of Radio & Trunking Distributors International, Inc.
In other news, Transcrypt’s parent, EFJ, Inc., recently reported net income of $6.5 million—or 37 cents per share—for fiscal 2003. The company also issued its initial guidance for 2004, which included net income ranging from 23 cents to 25 cents per share. EFJ, Inc. also is the parent of EFJohnson.
