AT&T launches FirstNet Dealer Program

AT&T described the FirstNet Dealer Program as “a first for the AT&T indirect channels” and noted the company’s desire to provide public-safety entities with greater choice when deciding to subscribe to FirstNet’s nationwide public-safety broadband network (NPSBN), according to the AT&T press release.

“There are agencies that want to access the power of FirstNet but prefer to buy services through a dealer. So, we crafted the FirstNet Dealer Program with them in mind,” the AT&T press release states. “We’re doing more to give public-safety agencies a choice in how they buy, while maintaining the integrity of the vetting process to ensure only eligible users are granted access to the network.

This approach is indicative of AT&T’s overall philosophy as the telecom giant deploys the FirstNet system nationwide, according to Chris Sambar, AT&T’s senior vice president for FirstNet.

 “FirstNet is public safety’s network. That’s why—from deployable network assets to our new subscriber-paid offer—FirstNet is all about meeting public safety where they are,” Sambar said in a prepared statement. “This is another step in their direction. The FirstNet Dealer Program makes it easy for public safety agencies to work with the same solution providers they know and trust to sign up for FirstNet service.”
