Digital Global Systems adds remote-access capability to solution
In terms of developing a version of the SigBase 1000 that works in an outdoor environment, DGS officials are trying to determine whether the solution can be integrated into existing nodes that serve the wireless market or the company will have to design its own outdoor node, Levin said. DGS officials are aware of the challenges faced in an outdoor environment, he said.
“Eventually, we’re going to have something that’s going to operate on the outside of a structure, so it’s going to be weather-resistant,” Levin said. “So, if even if you rain on it or snow on it, it will still feed you data back.”
Being able to help network operators identify interference sources quickly in both the indoor and outdoor environments—and access the data remotely, instead of having to be at the site—should be beneficial to DGS and its customers, Levin said.
“The goal is to have an indoor and outdoor product,” he said. “This way, whatever the case may be, you’ll have something that you can walk away from and utilize without having to worry about monitoring it [at the site].”
