Trimble, Sunnyvale, CA, has been awarded an automatic vehicle location (AVL) system integration contract by the Montgomery County Hospital District (MCHD) in Texas. Trimble will equip 30 vehicles with its Global Positioning System (GPS)/AVL subsytem used to locate, manage and dispatch vehicles for enhanced fleet operations. Additionally, Trimble will provide geographic information system (GIS) services to be used as the source for Trimble’s StarView map display database and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) geofile. The GPS/AVL subsystem includes a PCS-200 intelligent data controller with a built-in GPS receiver, an EchoXL message data terminal, and base station software packages for AVL management and communications control.
