Intertec Publishing renamed ‘Primedia Business Magazines’
Intertec Publishing, the company that publishes Mobile Radio Technology, has been renamed “Primedia Business Magazines & Media.”
The new name refers to the company’s biggest single business, magazines, and its other targeted ways of connecting sellers with qualified buyers. “Media” includes in-person trade shows and conferences along with Internet Web sites and other forms of rich, media-driven contact.
“The new name reflects our goal of becoming a streamlined, integrated company, and it will simplify our branding and selling efforts,” said Tim Andrews, the company’s chief executive.
Primedia Business Magazines & Media was founded in 1886 as the Kansas City Implement and Farm Journal, incorporating in 1887 as the Implement Trade Journal Company, later known as Implement & Tractor Publications. The company took the Intertec Publishing name in 1967 to reflect the international growth of its technical magazines. The company was purchased in 1989 by K-III Communications, which later was renamed Primedia.
