ITA postpones Private Wireless Spectrum Management conference
The Industrial Telecommunications Association, Washington, has postponed the Private Wireless Spectrum Management Conference and Exposition scheduled for Sept. 19–22 until further notice, according to a memo to all ITA, CICS and USMSS members.
The memo, released today, from Laura Smith to all ITA, CICS and USMSS members, reads as follows:
In light of the tragic events in New York, Pennsylvania and in Washington, DC metropolitan area, ITA is postponing the Private Wireless Spectrum Management Conference and Exposition scheduled for Sept. 19–22, until further notice.
We are in negotiations with the Grand Hyatt, Washington, DC, regarding alternative dates for the meeting. As soon as we have more information, we will be in contact with you regarding rescheduled plans for the conference. You may cancel your hotel reservations by calling the Hyatt Worldwide Reservation System at 800-233-1234.
In the weeks to come, I am sure many of us will discover that we know someone who has lost their life, or know someone else who has lost a loved one. Our legal firm, Wiley, Rein & Fielding, has suffered such a loss. Karen Kincaid, a prominent telecommunications attorney and a partner at Wiley, Rein & Fielding was aboard the 757 that crashed into the Pentagon. Our thoughts and prayers are with Karen’s family and friends, as well as with our colleagues at Wiley, Rein & Fielding.
Even though we are all shocked and horrified by yesterday’s events, we need to remember that Americans are strong and resilient and that the heinous and cowardly acts that occurred yesterday will not break our spirit. We will not let these monsters with their horrendous acts of terrorism defeat the principles for which this country stands.
We regret the tragic circumstances that require us to postpone the conference and hope you will understand that this action is taken with the safety of everyone foremost in mind. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact either myself or Ray Wisniewski at your convenience. We will keep you informed as we learn more about alternative dates for the conference.
