“Silent Solution” wins UK industry award

Damovo UK, London, has been selected as the winner in the “Most Effective Use of Technology” category in the Nabarro Nathanson Awards. The Metropolitan Police Service use “Silent Solution” to direct calls from mobile phones to the Emergency Services 999 (similiar to the US 9-1-1 system) auto attendant and determine if it’s a genuine call. It’s then patched through to a live dispatcher.

By eliminating accidental and misdialed numbers from mobile phones, officials explained, operators can dedicate effective time to the 999 emergency system calls. Officials said the system has saved roughly 6 million pounds per year.
