Garden Grove hits 5G

5G Wireless has announced the start of beta testing for Mobile Wi-Fi in the city of Garden Grove, Calif.

The mobile Wi-Fi capability is an extension of 5G’s recently announced WiFi HotZone. Local “hot spot” ranges normally can’t exceed 300 ft. from an access point, but 5G’s package provides coverage more than a mile away. Boosted by repeaters, it is possible to provide the entire fleet of police cars and emergency vehicles total coverage within the seven-square-mile city limits of Garden Grove.

The 5G technology has been able to penetrate both manmade and natural obstacles while delivering speeds consistent with line-of-sight locations.
