Wireless Facilities wins defense RFID deal
Wireless Facilities this week announced that the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has agreed to purchase the company’s radio frequency identification (RFID) readers as part of the agency’s project to use passive RFID technology in its supply chain.
Awarded by the Army Contracting Agency Information Technology, E-Commerce and Commercial Contracting Center, the contracts call for DoD agencies to buy fixed readers from Wireless Facility.
“This the first phase of a long-term initiative to implement RFID technology throughout the DoD’s supply chain,” Steve Roth, president of Wireless Facilities’ government services, said in a prepared statement.. “Given our in-house RFID expertise and open architecture, our multiple-vendor approach to RFID solutions, and our longstanding relationships with various DoD agencies, we are well-positioned to continue to grow our federal RFID business.”
