K&L receives ISO 14001 certification
K&L Microwave received ISO 14001 certification for its Environmental Management System. The certification is based on voluntary standards developed by the International Organization for Standardization regarding ways companies and organizations can implement sound environmental policies for the prevention of pollution.
Lucent joins Integrated Wireless Network development team
Lucent Technologies has joined the Lockheed Martin-led team entering the final phase of the multibillion-dollar Integrated Wireless Network contract. The Department of Justice, Homeland Security and Justice sponsored the contract for the development of a secure and reliable wireless communications network with voice, data and multimedia capabilities.
Oklahoma City upgrades communications system
Oklahoma City will replace its existing Dictaphone Freedom System with a NICE System’s solution. The solution will capture communications from 16 call-taker positions and interactions from 60 IP phones used at the city’s new communications center, according to the company. It also will include the Scenario Replay software, which lets users view radio and phone-based emergency communications from an incident in a graphical timeline.
Trucking fleet installs RFID system
AXCESS International installed the FleetTag hardware and software system at Trailiner Corp., a long-distance freight-trucking operator. The software facilitates the real-time tracking of tractors, trailers and associated drivers in, out and within a specific facility, according to the company. The hardware includes two types of active RFID tags—one mounted on the vehicle and another installed at facilities’ gated entries—that wirelessly transmit and receive data from more than 100 feet away.
