Getac‘s V100 features the company’s Sunlight Readable Technology, which offers a super-bright screen display operating at 1,200 NITS. By opening and swiveling its display, the V100 quickly converts from a notebook computer to a tablet PC. The unit is fully compliant with MIL-STD 810F and IP54 standards and features a removable hard drive that is shielded by a special mechanism to prevent damage during operation; anti-vibration compounds, which serve as a shock-absorber during transport; and an anti-shock housing to further protect it if bumped or dropped.

The Panasonic Toughbook 30 clamshell rugged laptop and Toughbook 19 rugged convertible tablet computer both incorporate 1,000 nit LCDs, circular polarization technology, and anti-glare and anti-reflective (AR) screen treatments to enhance screen viewability. The computers also include a “concealed mode” that lets users easily turn all device lights off using a function key, without having to power down the machine. These Mil-Spec-certified notebooks incorporate the rugged feature magnesium alloy cases, sealed keyboards and ports, hard-drive heaters, flexible internal connectors and shock-mounting. They also include Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/draft-n and Bluetooth, as well as capabilities for Gobi global mobile Internet and GPS.

Datron‘s DT110 features a full magnesium alloy case, Intel Core Duo 1.6GHz processor and 12.1-inch sunlight-readable LCD. It complies with MIL-STD-810F for shock and vibration and contains sealed communications ports and built-in waterproof speakers. The DT110 contains an embedded MIL-STD-188-110B high-speed, high-frequency modem that can be used as a complete HF messaging terminal in harsh, tactical environments. It includes Datron’s network application software to allow high-speed data, e-mail and fax transmission and can be used to program Datron’s radios and manage the radio network.
