IWCE Virtual Session – LTE Coverage Update: HPUE
IWCE Virtual on August 24-27,2020 brought the global critical communications community together for 5 days of education, networking, new technology trends and much more! Now you can catch up on up on some of the most impactful sessions you might have missed at the show.
Session: LTE Coverage Uppdate: HPUE
Learn about High Power User Equipment (HPUE) options that enhance LTE range, coverage and data rates. At 700 MHz Band 14 licensed to FirstNet, use of HPUE solutions can double the effective range of a cell sector and greatly improve signal strength from within difficult-to-serve locations, such as basement parking garages. Under the new 900 MHz broadband scheme, FCC rules allow devices to transmit LTE signals at the same power level as LMR. Examine the pros and cons of using such high-power approaches, and learn how the capability can alter coverage planning for a communications network.
